Lee County, VA

 

Lee County was created in 1793 from Russell County. Lee County is named for Henry Lee (1756 - 1818) a Delegate to the Continental Congress, Governor of Virginia, and father of Civil War General Robert E. Lee.  Lee County shares the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park with Kentucky and Tennessee.

Lee County has a population of 25,587 and a total area of 437 square miles.
