Natural Tunnel State Park

 

Scott County, Virginia was created in 1814 from portions of Washington, Russell, and Lee Counties. Scott County is named for General Winfield Scott (1786 - 1866) a commander of the American forces in the War of 1812.    

Scott County has an excellent transportation network featuring U.S. Highways 23 and 58 and the CSX railway system.   The county has a strong industrial base in the Duffield Regional Industrial Park producing products that are shipped throughout the world. Scott County's Crooked Road Technology Center and adjacent properties are a TVA-Certified Data Center site.    

Scott County has a population of 23,126 and a total area of 539 square miles.
